Superb vintage Italian jewellery box with a decorative signed solid metal and silver sculpture on the lid. Felt and velvet lined compartment.

This is a superb vintage Italian jewellery box with a signed solid metal/800 grade silver sculpture on the lid.
The Exterior
This box is made of solid wood that has a beautiful deep mahogany stain. The lid features a fabulous three dimensional metal and 800 grade silver sculpture that bears the artists signature and the date 1988. The sculpture depicts a dog and pheasant in woodland and has a lovely amount of textured detail. Please see below for details of the silver content.
The box is complete with its original hinges which are still in good working order.
The bottom of the box has its original black brushed felt covering.
There is a decorative gilded finish around the edges of the box.
Hallmark/Maker's Mark/Age
The right side of the sculpture has a full Italian hallmark which loosely dates it to between 1968 and the present year. There is also a 1÷2g stamp present, indicating the sculpture has a silver content that weighs between 1 and 2 grams. The silver is 800 grade (has an 80% silver content) which is lower than 925 sterling silver that has a 92.5% silver content. There is an 800 stamp present alongside the hallmark.
The Interior
The interior has a single storage compartment. The inside of the lid has its original black brushed felt lining which complements the covering on the bottom. The base of the compartment has a new quality black velvet panel which we have added to replace the original felt that was worn.
Condition
This box is in excellent pre-loved condition. It has sound structure and very little wear.
Note
The metal and silver sculpture makes the lid very weighty. Care should therefore be taken when opening and closing the lid, so that it doesn't drop down suddenly.

International postage is £30 by Royal Mail International Tracked and/or Signed For postage. Delivery is fast, within 3-5 working days to Europe and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world.
