A beautifully decorated vintage jewellery box from Belaruse, featuring the fabulous National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre in Minsk.

This is a beautifully decorated vintage jewellery box, originating in Belaruse and dating to the 1970s/1980s. It was probably made for the Belarusian tourist market.
The Exterior
The lid and all four sides of this box have beautiful applied wood decoration. The lid features a lovely depiction of the fabulous National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre in Belaruse. This beautiful architectural building opened in 1933 and is located in the Trinity Hill district of Minsk. The applied wood adds a beautiful texture to the box.
The box stands raised on its original feet which also feature applied decoration. The box also has its original hinges which are in good working order.
The Interior
The interior has a single storage compartment, complete with its original plush brushed felt linings.
Condition
This box is in lovely vintage condition. It has sound structure and only minor light surface wear.
The interior linings are still neatly fitted and in good clean condition.
