Beautiful vintage musical jewellery box from the 1980s. Glossy lacquered finish and a picture of adorable puppies to the lid. Plays the musical tune 'That's What Friends Are For' by Dionne Warwick.

This is a beautiful vintage jewellery box, dating to the 1980s. It is in wonderful condition. The box is musical and plays 'That's What Friends Are For'.
The Exterior
This box has a stylish streamlined design and a beautiful glossy lacquered finish. It has a lovely burl wood effect veneer and the lid has a delightful picture of three adorable golden retriever puppies.
The box has its original polished gold metal hinges. These are high quality retractable quadrant hinges which slide in and out of the box as you open and close the lid.
The Interior
The interior has two storage compartments plus a ring storage section to the rear. The musical movement is cased to the right of this. All of the interior has its original soft cream brushed felt linings.
The Musical Movement
The movement plays the beautiful tune 'That's What Friends Are For', originally recorded by Dionne Warwick in 1985.
The movement is in perfect working order, playing the tune at its correct tempo.
Operating The Musical Movement
The movement is operated via the winding key on the bottom of the box. Five turns of the key are sufficient to fully wind up the movement. The music stops as it should, when the lid is closed or when the movement has fully unwound.
Notes On Vintage Musical Movements
As with all musical boxes, care should be taken not to overwind the movement. Overwinding will result in the movement malfunctioning. Please allow the movement to fully unwind before rewinding. We are not responsible for movements that are overwound or for movements which deteriorate from further age and use once boxes are purchased.
Please check the movement is still working as soon as you receive your box. It will be checked again prior to posting.

Condition
This box is in extremely good condition. It has sound structure and only minor light wear to the lacquered finish.
The interior linings are neatly fitted and in good clean condition overall. They have only minor light wear which is commensurate with age and honest use. There is one small mark on the felt covered lid of the musical movement's casing.
The hinges are in excellent working order.
The musical movement is in perfect working order, as stated above.
