Beautiful antique solid silver jewellery box. Full Birmingham Assay Office hallmark. Circa 1920. Original silk linings with braided cord trim.

This is a beautiful small antique jewellery box made of solid sterling silver. It dates to 1920 and has its original silk lining. The silver is fully hallmarked and the box is in good condition for its age.
The Exterior
This box has a beautiful oval shape. Its lid has stylish edges and a good quality secure hinge. The box stands raised on decorative Lion's paw feet and the bottom of the box has its original leather base.
The Interior
The interior has its original sage green silk linings. The silk is beautifully ruched around the sides and is finished with braided cord trim.
Hallmark/Maker's Mark
The silver has a full Birmingham Assay Office hallmark with the date letter V for 1920. The maker's mark is partially rubbed due to age.
Condition
This box is in lovely condition for its 100 years of age. The hinge is still in perfect working order and the lid closes flush.
There is minor light wear/feint light surface scratches to the silver. The silver has been polished but still retains some of its naturally built-up tarnish. There are a few little dints to the silver around the top of the interior rim. This is as we'd expect due to the silver being thinner here.
The interior silk/cord trim is in very good condition for its age. It has minor light age-related wear and a couple of teeny marks.
All of the wear is commensurate with age and honest use.
