A beautiful 1930s Art Deco Liberty of London jewellery box with two drawers and its original bakelite knobs. Newly refurbished velvet lined compartments to the drawers.

This is a beautiful rare Art Deco jewellery box, dating to the 1930s. It was made in England by Liberty of London and the drawers have beautifully refurbished compartments. It is in wonderful condition for its 90 plus years of age!
The Exterior
This box is made of strong stiff card and is covered in Liberty's most iconic Hera Peacock feather patterned fabric. It has two storage drawers with their original yellow bakelite knobs. The top of the box is embossed 'LIBERTY OF LONDON HANDMADE IN ENGLAND' in silver lettering.
The Interior
The interior drawers have been newly refurbished by ourselves. The bases of each compartment have new padded cream premium cotton velvet panels.
The New Panels
These are completely handmade in order to fit the compartments perfectly. The padded panels provide cushioned protection for jewellery. The velvet is high-quality cotton velvet with a short plush pile and tight weave.

About Liberty's Hera Fabric
Hera is Liberty's most iconic pattern, first appearing in Liberty's records back in the late 1880s. This distinctive Peacock feathers design was first seen during the Aesthetic Movement within the Art Nouveau period. Genuine vintage and antique Hera fabric sells for hundreds of pounds.
Condition
This beautiful box is in wonderful condition for its age! It has sound structure and very little wear. This is commensurate with age and honest use.
The Liberty fabric to the top and sides has faded over time. Keeping the box out of direct sunlight should prevent it from fading any further.
The interior velvet panels, being new, are in immaculate unworn, unused condition.
