A beautiful small Italian jewellery box with a decorative inset panel to the lid. The panel is plated with sterling silver and finished with enamel and 22ct gold leaf.

This is a beautiful small Italian jewellery box with a decorative inset panel to the lid.
The Exterior
This box has a beautiful faux burl wood veneered finish and a decorative inset panel to the lid. The panel is plated with 925 silver and has an enameled and 22ct gold leaf finish. The panel depicts a 19th century lithography by the artist Bartolomeo Pinelli, titled 'Swing game at the ancient temple of the Virile Fortune, Rome'.
The plaque, plus the edges of the lid/body/bottom of the box, are beautifully framed with a painted gold finish.
The bottom of the box has its original manufacturer's label with guarantee that the box is hand finished with 925 silver and 22ct gold leaf.

Circa 2010-2020.
The Interior
The interior has a single storage compartment. The base of this, plus the inside of the lid, have their original soft beige felt linings.
Condition
This box is in very good pre-loved condition. It has sound structure and only minor light wear to the lid and body. The bottom of the box has some light friction marks and glue residue (probably excess glue from the label).
