A beautiful good sized vintage jewellery box, made in Sweden in the 1970s. Mottled pastel pink faux leather finish. The interior has multiple storage compartments and its original pastel grey felt linings.

This is a beautiful good sized vintage jewellery box. It was made in Sweden in the 1970s and is in very good condition for its age.
The Exterior
This box has a lovely faux leather vinyl finish which is a beautiful mottled/marbled pink colour. There is a very decorative gold frame to the lid which features stylish leaf motifs, and the front and sides are detailed with the same. This beautiful flowing organic decoration is very much in the Art Nouveau style and was popular throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The Designer
This box was manufactured by Design Philipp, a Swedish company that is renowned for their beautiful faux leather jewellery boxes. Their gold embossed stamp is on the back of the box.
The box is complete with its original hinges which are still in excellent working order.
The Interior
The interior has multiple storage compartments of various shapes and sizes. These are perfect for keeping different types of jewellery separate, e.g, silver and gold, rings and earrings, small and large pieces.
The top of the interior has a tray with nine compartments. This section automatically raises when you lift up the lid. Incorporated within the centre compartments are two earring storage sections for studs and/or small hoop earrings.
The bottom tray has a further seven compartments.
All of the compartments have pastel grey felt linings.
The inside of the lid has a pink satin covered panel with five gold hooks for hanging necklaces and chains. There is a gathered silk-like pouch beneath the hooks which the ends of the chains/necklaces will rest behind. This will prevent the chains from becoming tangled.
Condition
This box is in very good condition for its age. It has sound structure and very little wear to the vinyl which is in remarkably clean condition.
There is some minor wear and light marks to the grey felt linings.

The smallest compartments (top tray) measure 4.0 by 2.2cms with a 2.0cm depth.
The largest compartment (bottom tray) measures 13.5 by 11.0cm with a 2.7cm depth.
The earrings storage section holds 10 pairs of studs/small hoops.
