This is a lovely Italian oval shaped jewellery box with a beautiful hallmarked sterling silver plaque to the lid.
The Exterior
This box has a burgundy velvety felt covering and its lid is decorated with a hallmarked silver plaque. The plaque has a beautiful Victorian inspired design with raised scrolls and shell motifs.
Hallmark/Makers Mark/Age
The silver has a 925 sterling silver purity stamp. There is also a 3÷5g stamp present, indicating the plaque has a resin base with a sterling silver covering that weighs between 3 and 5 grams.
The box dates to the 1980s/1990s.
The Interior
The interior has a single velvety felt-lined storage compartment.
Condition
This box is in excellent pre-loved condition and appears to have seen very little use. The silver is in very good condition. It has no dints and only minor light surface wear/light tarnish.
