Beautiful Art Deco Jewellery box with a newly lined interior. Very pretty engraving to the lid and an all over glossy polished finish.

This is a beautiful small Art Deco box which has recently been converted into a jewellery box. It dates to the 1930s and is made of Electroplated Nickel Silver. It has a gorgeous glossy high polished finish and the appearance of solid silver.
The Exterior
The lid has a beautifully engraved floral centre feature, surrounded by a broad engine turned engraved frame. It also has a beautifully shaped lipped handle which enables the lid to be lifted up with ease.
The Interior
The interior has been newly refurbished by ourselves. The walls have new 'antique rose' dusky pink velvet linings, and the base of the compartment has a padded cotton panel which has a very pretty Rose print.
The inside of the lid has a beautiful gilt finish which is a sign of high quality.
Maker's Mark/Metal Marks
The bottom of the box is stamped ARISTOCRAT (the maker), H.E.P.N.S.B (with EPNS being the abbreviation for Electroplated Nickel Silver) and MADE IN ENGLAND.
Condition
This box is in lovely condition for its 90 years of age. The hinge is still in perfect working order and the lid closes flush.
There is minor light wear/faint light surface scratches to the metal. The metal has been polished but has a few spots of naturally built-up tarnish remaining.
The interior linings, being new, are in immaculate unused condition.
History
This box started its life as an expensive ladies cigarette box. It is a wonderful piece of social history that has now been converted into a much more functional jewellery box.
