1930s Art Deco jewellery box with a beautiful newly refurbished interior. Made of solid Oak. Polished silver metal handle.

This is a beautiful Art Deco jewellery box, dating to the 1930s. It is made of solid Oak and has a newly refurbished interior. It is still in excellent condition despite its 90 years of age.
The Exterior
This box is made of solid Oak which has a beautiful aged patina and a lovely grain. It has a classic streamlined shape and form which was popular throughout the Art Deco period, and beautiful angular edges and corners to the lid and base.
The lid has a lovely silver metal handle which enables you to lift it up with ease.
The box has its original polished gold metal hinges.
The Interior
The interior has a single storage compartment which has been beautifully refurbished. It has new brushed cotton linings which have a very pretty floral pattern. The fabric is pastel blue with pinky/coral coloured flowers and green leafy sprigs. The panel to the base has been nicely padded to give cushioned protection for jewellery.
Condition
This box is still in excellent condition. It has sound structure and very little wear, despite its 90 years of age. The hinges are still in good working order and the lid closes very securely.
The interior linings, being new, are in excellent clean unworn condition.
The silver metal handle is still securely attached. This has minor light age-related wear.
There are some very faint marks to the front of the box on the left and right side. These are barely noticeable. These appear to be old tape marks from where the lid was once taped shut, possibly done when a previous owner of the box was moving home. You can just make out the marks if you look closely at the photos provided. We have not attempted to polish the marks as doing so could damage the Oak. They are also part of the box's history and character.
