Lovely Italian jewellery box with decorative hallmarked embossed silver panels.

This is a lovely Italian jewellery box with decorative sterling silver panels. It dates to the 1990s/2000s and is a heavy sturdy box.
The Exterior
This box is made of solid wood which has a burl wood veneered finish. There are decorative silver panels on the lid and all four sides which have embossed floral detail. There is a blank cartouche in the centre of the lid's panel which can be personalised with an engraved name/initials/date if desired.
The Interior
The interior has a single large storage compartment which has been newly refurbished by ourselves. This has a new padded navy blue velvet panel. The padding provides cushioned protection for jewellery.
Silver Hallmark
All of the silver panels have an Italian silver hallmark which loosely dates them to between 1968 and the present year. It has the silversmiths registration number (94) and the two letter abbreviation (MC) of the province in Italy where the silversmith was registered. The MC abbreviation is for the province Macerata. There are also 925 sterling silver stamps, plus 3÷5g stamps present. The latter indicates the panels have resin bases with a silver covering that weighs between 3 and 5 grams.
Condition
This box is in fair preloved condition.
There are some light surface scratches, one dint, and minor thinning to the silver covering on the panel upon the lid. The rest of the silver panels are in very good condition
There is a small area with minor scratching on the bottom of the box, and some wear to the veneer on the corners.
The price of this box reflects the wear.
