Lovely handmade 1950s vintage jewellery box. Specifically made for a Mum. The interior has been newly refurbished with pastel pink brushed cotton linings. This box would make a beautiful birthday, Christmas or Mother's Day gift.

This is a beautiful Vintage jewellery box, dating to the 1950s. It was specifically made as a gift for a Mum. The box is handmade and has a newly refurbished interior.
The Exterior
The wood has a lovely stained finish which has given the box a rustic feel.
There is a beautifully shaped, cut out frame to the lid which has carved decoration within it. This features 'Mum' in beautiful fancy script and a leafy sprig with berries. The carvings are crisp and have a raised 3-dimensional form.
The body of the box has beautiful flowing concave curves and a plinthed base.
The box has its original brass hinges and it stands slightly raised on its original block feet.
The Interior
The interior has a single storage compartment which is quite large and deep. It is roomy and will hold a good amount of jewellery.
The compartment has been beautifully refurbished. It has new pastel pink brushed cotton linings. The panel to the base of the compartment has been padded to give cushioned protection for jewellery.
Condition
This box is still in lovely condition. It has sound structure and no damage. The hinges are still in good working order.
The interior linings, being new, are in excellent clean, unworn condition.
There is minor light age-related wear to the wood.
