This is a beautiful small vintage Italian jewellery box with a decorative inset panel to the lid.
The Exterior
This box is made of beautiful polished Teak wood and has a decorative inset panel to the lid. The panel features a country scene with a wagon, horse and trees. It is plated with 925 sterling silver and has pale gold plated detailing to the wagon and trees. The panel is surrounded by a gold resin frame.
The box is complete with its original brass hinges.
Date
Circa 1990s.
The Interior
The interior has a single storage compartment. The base of this, plus the inside of the lid, have their original brushed burgundy felt linings.
Silver Hallmark
The panel has an Italian silver hallmark which loosely dates the box to between 1968 and the present year. There is also a 925 sterling silver stamp, plus a 1÷2g stamp present. The latter indicates a silver covering to the panel which weighs between 1 and 2 grams.
Condition
This box is in very good condition. It has sound structure and very little wear.
