A lovely small inlaid vintage jewellery box, made in Sorrento, Italy. Lovely soft plush velour linings to the interior which includes a ring storage section. Circa 1980s/1990s.

This is a beautiful small vintage jewellery box. It was made in Sorrento, Italy, and it dates to the 1980s/1990s.
The Exterior
The exterior has a lovely burl wood veneered finish which has beautiful figuration. All of the veneer has been polished and varnished, creating a beautiful smooth glossy finish.
There are beautiful marquetry inlaid cherubs on the lid and lovely curved sides to the body of the box.
The box is complete with its original polished gold metal piano hinge, and its original turned wood feet.
The bottom of the box has Satinwood veneer and has retained its original retailer's label.
The Interior
The interior has a single small storage compartment with a ring storage section at the back. All of this is lined with soft plush red velour.
The inside of the lid has a Mahogany veneered finish. This too has a smooth glossy, polished and varnished finish.
Condition
This beautiful box is in lovely condition with just a small amount of light age-related wear.
All of the inlay/veneer is present and intact.
The interior velour is in very good condition. It has no stains, splits or fraying.

Interior Compartment:
9.0 by 4.0cm with a 3.6cm depth.
