A pretty Italian jewellery box with a decorative hallmarked silver plaque to the lid. The silver has a beautiful embossed bonnet; a parasol and leafy stemmed flowers. It also bears the designer's signature.

This is a lovely small Italian jewellery box with a beautiful sterling silver panel to the lid. The silver is fully hallmarked.
The Exterior
This box has a beautiful polished burl wood veneered finish and a decorative inset hallmarked silver plaque. The plaque features a very pretty bonnet plus a parasol and leafy stemmed flowers. All of these are embossed in high relief. The plaque also bears the designer's signature.
The box has beautiful rounded sides and polished gold metal hinges.
Hallmark/Makers Mark/Age
The plaque has an Italian silver hallmark which loosely dates it to between 1968 and the present year. It also has a 925 sterling silver purity stamp and the designer's signature, Castellani.
The hallmark includes the silversmith's registration number (43) and the two-letter abbreviation (MC) of the province in Italy where the silversmith was registered. The MC abbreviation is for the province Macerata.
The Interior
The interior has a single storage compartment. This has its original soft beige linings. The lining to the inside of the lid has an enamelled gold metal badge marked ACCA. This is the jewellery studio that manufactured the box.
Condition
This box is in very good pre-loved condition. There is some minor light wear/tarnish to the silver.
The interior linings are in good condition. They are securely seated, clean and have no splits or fraying. There are a few small marks to the lining in the compartment which are not overly noticeable.
The hinges are in perfect working order.
