A lovely Art Deco hammered pewter box with a newly refurbished interior compartment. Circa 1920s.

This is a lovely 1920s Art Deco pewter box with a decorative hammered finish all over. The interior has been newly refurbished.
The Exterior
This box has a decorative hammered pewter finish and a solid wood interior. It has a hinged opening and a lip to the lid which enables you to lift it up with ease.
The Interior
The interior has a single storage compartment which has been refurbished. It has new emerald green premium velvet panels to the walls and a lightly padded quality cotton panel to the base. This base panel has a beautiful Liberty style floral print which is apple green with multi coloured flowers.
History
This box started its life as quality cigarette box. It is a wonderful piece of social history which has now been converted into a functional box for jewellery.
Condition
This box is in very good condition for its 100 years of age. The hinge is still in perfect working order and the lid closes flush. There are minor small light scratches to the pewter and a natural build up of tarnish. This has given the box a wonderful aged patina
The interior linings, being new, are in immaculate unused condition.
