Lovely small antique jewellery box with a textured black leather finish. Polished chrome hinges, lock and keyhole escutcheon. Original silk and velvet linings. Original working lock and key.

This is a lovely small antique jewellery box with a textured black leather finish. It dates to the Edwardian period and has a working lock and key plus its original linings.
The Exterior
This box has a textured black leather finish. It has its original polished chrome 'stop' hinges which hold the lid upright, plus its original complementary chrome keyhole escutcheon, and working chrome lock and key. The lock is stamped BRITISH MAKE.
The Interior
The interior has a removable storage tray with three compartments and a ring storage section. Beneath this is a further, larger single compartment.
All of the compartments plus the ring storage section have their original purple silk and velvet linings. The silk to the inside of the lid has beautiful ruched detail.
The interior walls and exterior of the tray, all have a black leather finish in keeping with the exterior.
Condition
This box is in lovely condition for its age. The leather has a small amount of light surface wear, commensurate with age and honest use.
The interior velvet and silk linings are still in very good condition with no splits or fraying.
The hinges and lock are still in great working order.

International postage is £25 by Royal Mail International Tracked and/or Signed For postage. Delivery is fast, within 3-5 working days to Europe and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world. Delivery may be longer depending on the speed of your local postal service and/or if your parcel has to go through customs. Please note that we cannot deliver to international PO boxes as we use a secure insured postal service that requires a signature.
