Beautiful small inlaid vintage jewellery box, made in Sorrento, Italy. Lovely soft plush velour linings to the interior. Circa 1980s/1990s.

This is a beautiful small vintage jewellery box which was made in Sorrento, Italy. It dates to the 1980s/1990s.
The Exterior
The entire exterior has a beautiful veneered finish. The veneer to the lid is a lovely Burlwood which has beautiful figuration. The veneer to the body of the box is Mahogany. All of the veneer has been polished and varnished, creating a beautiful smooth glossy finish.
There is a beautiful marquetry inlaid flower within the Burlwood veneer on the lid. This has been created from three colourful varieties of wood.
The box has lovely curved sides and the lid has a subtle shallow pyramid-like form.
The box is complete with its original polished gold metal piano hinge.
The Interior
The interior has a single small storage compartment which is lined with soft plush velour. This is a lovely mahogany shade.
The inside of the lid has a Mahogany veneered finish which matches that on the exterior. This too has a smooth glossy, polished and varnished finish.
Condition
This beautiful box is in lovely condition with just a small amount of age-related wear.
All of the inlay/veneer is present and intact.
The interior velour has no stains, splits or fraying.
There is some minor wear to the veneer on either side of the hinge.
There is some minor light friction wear to the bottom of the box.

4.9cm square with a 3.0cm depth.
