This is a beautiful genuine jewellery presentation box by Liberty. It has a beautiful red leather finish and its original silk and velvet linings.
The jewellery in the photos is for display purposes and is not included with the box. It can however be purchased from us - please see the details at the bottom of the page.
The Exterior
This beautiful presentation box has a classic rectangular shape with stylish angled corners. It has a beautiful deep burgundy red leather finish with embossed gold swag decoration to the lid. It has a lovely hinged opening and a polished gold metal clasp closure. The leather has been beautifully polished and has a lovely glossy shine. The box opens easily by pressing in the button at the front of the box.
The Interior
The interior compartment has its original plush burgundy velvet panel with inserts.
The inside of the lid has its original padded cream silk panel and its original cream silk linings around the walls. The padded silk panel has the LIBERTY GOLD logo embossed upon it in shiny gold lettering.
The soft plush velvet and padded silk panel provide cushioned protection for jewellery. The velvet panel has a cream silk pull tab which enables you to lift it out of the box with ease.
The leather to the top edges of the compartment has embossed gold detail and the hinge is concealed by a silk-covered fold.
History/Use
This presentation box was originally designed for an expensive pair of Liberty gold cufflinks with chain attachments. It is most suitable for pairs of chain-linked cufflinks. Alternatively, it will make lovely storage for a pair of stud earrings with straight posts. Please view the photos provided for examples.
Other styles of cufflinks (such as those with bar attachments) can also be stored in this box, however, they will sit lose upon the top of the velvet panel.
To store your cufflinks securely - simply lift out the inserts in the velvet panel, place the chains of the cufflinks on the undersides of the folds, hold the chains within the folds and gently press the inserts back into their slots.
To store your stud post earrings securely - simply follow the steps above, placing the posts on the undersides of the folds.
Care should be taken not to damage the chains/posts when placing the inserts back into their slots.
Age
This box is modern, no more than 15 years old.
Condition
This box is in excellent pre-loved condition and appears to have seen very little use. It has sound structure and its clasp closure is secure.
There is only very minor light wear to the leather finish.
The velvet panel, padded silk panel and silk linings are still in very good condition. They are clean and neatly fitted.
Minor Flaws
There is minor light fading to some of the embossed gold lettering of the logo.
There is one minor fine 'pull' line to the silk fold that covers the hinge.
