Beautiful Art Nouveau jewellery box, dating to 1890/1900. Superb inlaid and hand painted organic decoration and beautifully refurbished interior.

This is a fabulous antique jewellery box with superb inlaid and hand-painted organic decoration. It was made during the Arts & Crafts movement of the Art Nouveau period, circa 1890/1900. The interior has been beautifully refurbished by ourselves.
The Exterior
The exterior has a lovely mottled mahogany stained finish and superb inlaid and hand-painted organic decoration. This features pretty flowers and leaves amongst interwoven vines. The flowers are likely Forget-Me-Nots which are symbolic of true love and a promise to always remember a certain someone in your thoughts.
The box has its original hinges.
The Interior
The interior has been newly refurbished by ourselves. There are matching padded cream velvet panels to both the base of the compartment and inside of the lid, and quality 'antiqued' paper linings to the walls of the compartment. The padded panels provide cushioned protection for jewellery.
Condition
This wonderful old box is in excellent condition for its 120/130 years of age. It has sound structure and all of the inlay is present and intact. There is some slight wear and water staining to a portion of the lid which does not spoil its overall beautiful appearance.
The interior linings, being new, are in immaculate unworn/unused condition.
The hinges are still in good working order.
There is some wear to the bottom of the box as we'd expect from its age.
