A beautiful vintage solid wood jewellery box with a stylish Victorian inspired form. The interior has multiple storage compartments and its original beautiful velvet like linings.

This is a beautiful vintage solid wood jewellery box. It dates to the 1970s/1980s, yet has a stylish Victorian inspired form. All of the interior has its original velvet like linings.
The Exterior
This box is made of solid hardwood, all of which has a glossy polished and varnished finish. It has high quality polished brass retractable quadrant hinges; a polished brass lock; an inlaid brass cartouche to the lid and a complementary inlaid brass keyhole escutcheon. The cartouche is blank and can be personalised with a name and/or date/s if desired. (Your local keycutter or jeweller will usually offer an inexpensive engraving service). The box also has its original brass lock, however please note this is not functional and does not have a key.
The bottom of the box has a burgundy felt covering which will protect the surfaces of furniture.
The Interior
The interior has its original lift out hardwood storage tray which has three compartments and two ring storage sections. A further large single compartment is beneath the tray. All of the interior has its original burgundy coloured velvet like linings. The tray has burgundy braided cord handles which enable you to lift it out of the box with ease. It also has a glossy polished and varnished finish, in keeping with the finish to the box's exterior. The compartments are complete with their original pads which have lovely serrated edges and satin ribbon pull tabs. The velvety panel to the inside of the lid is deeply padded.
Condition
This beautiful box is in very good condition. It has sound structure and only minor light wear from age and honest use.
The hinges are secure and in perfect working order.
The interior linings are neatly fitted and have only minor light wear. They have no splits and are in good clean condition.

International postage is £30 by Royal Mail International Tracked and/or Signed For postage. Delivery is fast, within 3-5 working days to Europe and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world. Delivery may be longer depending on the speed of your local postal service and/or if your package has to go through customs. Please note that we cannot deliver to international PO boxes as we use a secure insured postal service that requires a signature.
