A lovely vintage Italian velvet covered jewellery box with a decorative sterling silver panel to the lid.

This is a lovely vintage Italian jewellery box with a sterling silver plated panel to the lid.
The Exterior
This box has a soft plush deep navy blue velvet finish. The lid has a decorative sterling silver plated panel which features beautiful embossed scroll motifs.
The Interior
The interior has a single compartment and a mirror to the inside of the lid. It also has a satin ribbon stay which holds the lid upright.
Silver Hallmark
The lid has an Italian silver hallmark which loosely dates the box to between 1968 and the present year. It has the silversmiths registration number (145) and the two letter abbreviation (AN) of the province in Italy where the silversmith was registered. The AN abbreviation is for the province Ancona. There is also a 925 sterling silver stamp, plus a 5÷7g stamp present. The latter indicates a silver covering to the panel which weighs between 5 and 7 grams.
Condition
This box has sound structure and is in good pre-loved condition.
There is some wear to the polished silver finish on the centre of the panel.
The interior linings are neatly fitted and in good clean condition with no splits or fraying. There is minor fraying to the ribbon stay and minor wear to the corners of the box.
The price of this box reflects the wear.
