1950s musical jewellery box with a stylish curved design. The movement plays the delightful tune to the nursery rhyme 'This Old Man'. The box is made of Oak and the interior has soft brushed felt linings.

This is a stylish Retro musical jewellery box, dating to the 1950s. It has a Swiss Reuge movement that plays the tune of the old children's nursery rhyme 'This Old Man' (Knick Knack Paddy Whack).
The Exterior
This box is made of beautiful Oak and has a stylish curved design. It has the most charming little brass hinges and stands raised on conical aluminium feet.
The Interior
The interior has a single compartment and the musical movement is cased to the right of this. It has beige coloured soft brushed felt linings. The casing can be removed should the movement ever require attention.
The Musical Movement
The movement is in perfect working order. The music stops as it should, when the lid is closed or when the movement is fully unwound.
Operating The Musical Movement
The movement is operated via the brass winding key on the bottom of the box. 6 turns of the key are sufficient to fully wind up the musical movement.
Notes About Vintage Musical Movements
Care should be taken not to overwind the movement. Over winding will result in the movement malfunctioning.
We would like to make you aware that vintage movements can occasionally malfunction. They are already old and so will naturally have some wear from age and use.
We are not responsible for movements that malfunction from further age and use once boxes are purchased.
Please ensure the movement is still working as soon as you receive your box. It will be checked again prior to posting.

Condition
This box is in excellent vintage condition. It has sound structure and very little wear.
The interior felt linings are in lovely clean undamaged condition.
The hinges are in very good working order.
