The corner compartments are ideal for small pieces of jewellery such as rings, brooches, earrings and pendants. The centre compartments are ideal for larger pieces of jewellery such as slender bangles and watches. The bottom of the tray has a new felt covering which will protect the surfaces of furniture.
The lower large compartment is wide and spacious. It is ideal for broader bangles and watches and chunky beads.
The inside of the lid has a beautiful new print of Berkshire's Benham Park. This is a stunning scenic print, the original of which dates to the 18th century Regency period.

Condition
This beautiful box is in very good condition and has sound structure.
All of the Mother of Pearl inlay and pewter stringing is present and securely seated. There is minor light wear and discolouration to the inlay, and minor light wear to the veneer. The wear is commensurate with age and honest use.
There is a fine hairline split within the Rosewood veneer on the back of the box. This is superficial and does not affect the structure of the box.
The interior linings, being new, are in superb clean unused condition.
