Beautiful Art Deco jewellery box with a newly refurbished satin lined interior. Made of solid Mahogany. Walnut and Mahogany veneers. Lovely Bakelite lipped handle and superb chrome quadrant hinges.

This is a beautiful Art Deco jewellery box, dating to the 1920s/1930s.
The Exterior
This box is made of solid Mahogany. The front of the box and lid have lovely Walnut veneered panels and beautiful Mahogany veneered banding. The back, sides and bottom of the box are Mahogany. There is lovely figuration to the wood, particularly to the Walnut.
The lid has a stylish cream Bakelite lipped handle, Bakelite being a popular new material of the Deco period.
The box has a stylish flat streamlined shape which is typical of the Art Deco period. It stands raised on long Mahogany block feet. The front edge of the lid is beautifully curved.
The box has superb inset chrome quadrant hinges which are a good sign of a high-quality box.
The Interior
The interior has been newly refurbished by our skilled box restorer.
The compartment has a new padded satin panel to the base. The walls to the compartment and the inside of the lid have new satin linings. The satin is a beautiful pale turquoise shade.

Condition
This fabulous box is in excellent condition. It is structurally sound and has only minor light age-related surface wear.
The interior linings, being new, are in excellent pristine unworn condition.
The hinges are still in perfect working order and have retained their polished shiny finish.
