Superb antique jewellery cabinet made of solid Tiger Oak. Beautiful rippled glazed door with leaded effect, ornate brass handles, and two drawers.

This is a superb high-quality antique cabinet for jewellery or trinkets. It is late Victorian/early Edwardian and is made of solid Oak. It has a wonderful Arts & Crafts design.
The Exterior
This box is made of solid Tiger Oak. This has beautiful characteristic stripes which gave this variety of Oak its name.
There is a wonderful glazed door to the front of the box. This has beautiful rippled green glass and applied metal 'leaded' effect decoration. The door is complete with its original hinges.
The box has its original solid brass swing handles and also its original brass escutcheon to the lock. Its key is also original.
The box has beautiful mouldings, a stylish plinth base, and a decorative ridged pillar design to the door.
There is a new green felt covering to the bottom of the box which will protect the surfaces of furniture.
The Interior
The interior has two drawers with single storage compartments.
The top drawer is shallow and the bottom drawer is much deeper.
Both drawers have their original solid brass swing handles which match those on the sides of the box.
There are decorative paper linings in the bases of both drawers. These are new and have a beautiful foliate design.
Condition
This fabulous box is in excellent condition with very little wear. It has obviously been very well looked after by its previous owner/s.
The hinges and lock are in good working order. The lock is stamped 'SECURE ACTION'.
The box is weighty and very sturdy.
